Julie/Julia

Ok... so I JUST saw Julie/Julia yesterday and I LOVED IT!! Except the fact that Julia didn't really like Julie... that makes me sad!

So watching that movie made me wonder... am I like Julie near the middle of her blogging obsession... where she is so excited to see who will comment... or am I like Julie near the beginning of her blogging when she is simply writing to write... and feeling some weird sense of exhilaration that her words are out there for anyone.. everyone... or no one.

Obviously I'm not anxiously awaiting each and every comment... yet... but will the anticipation of comments determine my blogging experience... or will I just write to write... for anyone... everyone... or no one to read... interesting.

This movie really inspired me though... I thought... wow... how amazing would it be to be one of 'those' blogs that everyone can't wait to see each new post... I know, even as a baby blogger myself, I have 'those' blogs that I anticipate new posts... I admire their writing... their style.. their class!

I'd love your thoughts.. do we blog for the readers... or for ourselves? I often find myself struggling w/this question when mulling over blog topics...

Wednesday

Crazy Love

"Worry implies that we don't quite trust that God is big enough, powerful enough, or loving enough to take care of what's happening in our lives.
Stress says that the things we are involved in are important enough to merit our impatience, our lack of grace toward others, or our tight grip of control." (pg. 42)

I am reading Crazy Love by Francis Chan and I am loving it so far...

This book has already started to shape my heart... I have felt so disconnected in my relationship with the Lord and this book has really started to show how it is... how it REALLY is... it's not always easy to hear... but I love it.

I have noticed that I have let myself forget who God really is... "When we love God because we feel we should love Him, instead of genuinely loving out of our true selves, we have forgotten who God really is." (pg. 29)

If you haven't read this book... I encourage you to pick up a copy... and share your thoughts with me!

It is time... it is time to love the Lord out of my true self... not because I feel I should... it's going to suck at times... and I'll need your encouragement.. but I love for crazy love for my Lord!

Quote

My parents got me a desk calendar that has quotes each day... and the calendar is specificly for daughters... this is today's quote and I thought it was worthy of sharing!

“Happiness always looks small while you hold it in your hands, but let it go and you learn at once how bit and precious it is.” Maxim Gorky

I also have 'The Office' desk calendar that provides quotes each day... I will be sure to share the worthy quotes!
